All the Little things

"And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive. And see that ye have faith, hope, and charity, and then ye will always abound in good works."

This scripture highlights for me the importance of doing all the little things. It doesn't just say be temperate if you are having a good day, but it tells us to be temperate in "all things". It doesn't say to keep God's commandments when you feel like it but instead tells us to be obedient to Him "at all times". God always knows what we need, but He wants us to talk to Him. This is why He commands us to ask Him for the things we need, whether they be spiritual things or things of the world. Next it talks of gratitude, not only when we get what we want, but for whatever God decides to give us, whether it is what we wanted or not He knows best and we acknowledge that by accepting His will with gratitude. Our faith, hope, and charity (or love) will then be our motivating source to do good unto all of God's children. I know that Christ as we strive to be obedient, as He was, we can be blessed to receive the gift of His light in our lives. I know that He lives. In His name, Jesus Christ. Amen.
